Butterbox is a work consisted of music and video projections. The music is played partly live and partly from a computer and the videos are projected synchronized with the music. Each video was put together for a specific piece of music, acting as a image track for the songs. Thus, the main focus here is the music, which is the base for the work. We could think that Butterbox is a band where the band members are the musician, the computer and the videos.
Butterbox is Frederico Pessoa, a musician trained in classical guitar (Fundação de Educação Artistica – Brasil) and in Midi Technology and Recording Techniques (Morley College – UK), working with acustic and synthesized instruments, field recordings, a computer and videos.
Frederico Pessoa also works making soundtracks for dance acts, advertising and short videos since 1999.
