Terry Davies & BBC Philharmonic Orchestra

Terry Davies is a BAFTA-nominated composer for film, TV, theatre and dance who draws his influences from many different areas and eras. He is also a prolific film conductor, having conducted the music for about 50 films. Amongst these are Academy Award, BAFTA and PrimeTime Emmy-winning scores. Notable credits as conductor include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare in Love, The House of Mirth, Vanity Fair, Brick Lane, Happy-Go-Lucky, Brideshead Revisited, Glorious 39, Another Year, The Illusionist, and The King's Speech.

Amongst much music for the theatre, he received an Olivier Award for his score for Play Without Words, one of his scores for choreographer Matthew Bourne.

After years of composing in London he now lives in rural Sussex, where sheep, cattle, geese and a donkey add contributions to the music coming from his farm studio. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
