Hatsuiku Status (発育ステータス, 'Growth Status') is a rock band from Japan, formed in the year 2000 by 椎名林檎 (Ringo Shiina). They performed only 4 times, on the tour '発育ステータス 御起立ジャポン' ('Growth Status - Stand Up Japan'), and released one live DVD with this title. Their sound is characterised by the distinctive noise rock dissonance of lead guitarist Hisako Tabuchi (most known as the lead guitarist of NUMBER GIRL) and the presence of 3 bass guitarists, providing a rhythmic foundation that is both funky and driving.
