Sebastián Escofet
Argentinian, Buenos Aires-based musician/composer Sebastian Escofet came to the attention of the English speaking world when his "Meditaciones #2" (a reworking of Claude Debussy's Clair de Lune) was used in a mobile phone advert (the Siemens SL55). It subsequently appeared on a number of downtempo/chill-type compilations. The track itself was part of an album (Meditaciones) made up entirely of tracks built from heavily reworked samples of classical composers (amongst whom Arvo Pärt, Kevin Volans, Igor Stravinsky, and Béla Bartok), which was released on the Asterisco label in 2001.
