Spellbox is Mysti Mayhem and Mandocello (aka Shawn Spencer). Formed in Gainesville, Florida (where they used to hang out with Bo Diddley), they have toured nationally, and are now living in Durham, North Carolina. The combination of Mysti's voice (often compared with Janis) and Mandocello's unique instrumentation, playing his namesake instrument which might best be described as a cross between a guitar and a mandolin, has gained them an underground status. With five indie CDs already in their discography, Mysti released a larger scale production, fan financed through sellaband.
