Curators formed in Edinburgh from the ashes of various bands in late 2008.
They wrote and rehearsed furiously before playing with Wintersleep, Pulled Apart By Horses, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Little Comets and The Primitives among others, winning great reviews and support from Is This Music?, Jim Gellatly, Vic Galloway and various blogs, as well as airplay across the country, including Radio 1.
Buoyed by t...heir success, the band holed themselves up at Tape Studio in Leith in December of 2009 to begin working on their debut album with Stephen Watkins (The Acute, Cry Over Billionaires, Amanda Palmer, Dead Boy Robotics, The Vaselines, Broken Records etc). Regularly recording into the early hours of the morning, the songs were tracked live and then honed through hours of hard work as the band fought to balance their work with their blossoming new record.
Eight months later, the band emerged with Is This A Private Fight? (AM001, 2010), a record that made number 3 in Jockrock’s albums of 2010 list. Here’s what people have been saying about it:
