Blair Cowan

Blair Cowan

Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1960, Blair Cowan taught himself keyboards in his early teens, influenced by the Doors, Kraftwerk, Steely Dan and Vangelis. He studied Psychology at Glasgow University, where he became part of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, writing, recording and touring with them until they split in 1989. He then divided his time between writing and recording music for TV, and working as a session musician in Scotland and abroad. He now works full time as a software engineer, but in his free time composes music that combines a love of synthesisers with an interest in Van Dyke Parks and scottish folk music. He plays the accordion when his cat lets him, which is not very often. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
