ELpH vs. Coil is Coil. Just as Coil vs. ELpH and ELpH.
Brainwashed (for years the semi-official outlet of Coil) has this to say about it:
"ELpH is the entity Coil use to describe what musical compositions come out of the equipment that are sometimes unrehearsed or consciously thought of."
In other words the work of ELpH is chaos turned into art. It is the unexpected, the 'glitch', that was used rather than thrown away.
