Especimen is a punk-hardcore band from Tijuana, Mexico formed in 1987 by guitarist/singer Julio Tamayo aka Benny Rotten, with the main objective of create a fusion of different styles inside the punk: rock, hardcore, death, trash, etc.; arising so the first band of alternative punk in the history of the Mexican rock, characterized by a strong philosophy of protest, aggressive lyrics and frantic shows
