Christian Trich

Putting songwriter Christian Trich’s music on a map, you might find yourself at the intersection of American pop music and some small town. Blending rock, blues, folk and traditional country music, there is a common denominator of heritage and simplicity to his music. Aptly referred to as an ‘Eagles meets the Allman Brothers’ sound, Trich’s music is sometimes rough and other times sentimental, but it’s always authentic – what you hear is what you get.

Trich focuses mightily on weaving together stories and melodies that are carefully aimed at entertaining precise feelings and emotions – a feat which he believes is the ultimate goal of music. Playing live is what Trich and his band enjoy most, and it’s apparent at their shows. Their set lists are constantly changing – mixing classic originals with their own songs, reworking numbers by anyone from Elmore James to the Band.

BIO: Christian Trich grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania where he began writing music around age 17. After graduating from Washington & Jefferson College, he moved up the road to Pittsburgh where he began playing at city staples such as The Rex Theatre and Club Cafe.

Later on, Trich moved to Nashville. As a self-taught musician ultimately behind the ‘pop-country’ curve, he used his time in Tennessee to develop his own unique sound and writing style.

In 2007 he moved back to Pittsburgh and began rehearsing for his first full-length, self-financed disc, “Diamond Ring,” which was later released in May of 2009 to a sold-out audience at one of Pittsburgh’s premier live music clubs.

Since the release of “Diamond Ring,” Christian and his band have been playing in support of the record, most recently at the Three Rivers Arts Festival and the Hometown Music Festival at Hartwood Acres. In July of 2009, “Weight of the
World” was picked up by Pittsburgh radio station WYEP and has been on daily rotation.
