Zion Judah

ZION JUDAH is a singer/songwriter/producer, who's style is best described as an innovative, "Bob Marleyesque", cutting-edge, message-driven sound. His songs reveal moods of deep thought and conscious rhetoric, symbiotically fused with a formidable and distinct vocal delivery with range, smoothness and tempered intensity. Inherent in his sound, is an underlying modern, utopian, Rasta vibe that blends Roots Reggae with Urban/Alternative elements to create a wicked musical recipe.

ZION JUDAH (b. Angelo Damian Singh), bears an Afro/East-Indian, multi-ethnic, West Indian background and was born in Trinidad & Tobago. Since 1992 he has resided in NYC, where he does his own production at his grassroots, indie label/studio called Mt. Zion Records. Here he recorded and mixed his debut album - "Divine Creation" (2004 MTZ Music/BMI), as well as his current singles, "Good Sensi"," C.Y.O.R.", "Quest" and "Roots & Culture", just to mention a few.

He has also worked with notable, as well as, up and coming producers, bands and artists such as Ewart Wilson Jr. aka Heavy Metal (who co-produced the title track "Divine Creation" and 3 more cuts on ZJ's debut album. Ewart has produced for platinum artists like John Legend, Tyrese, Zhane as well as Beenie Man), Johnny Kemp (who had a no. 1 hit - "Just Got Paid"), Dan Wallace (who sang the hook on De La Soul's " Shopping Bags"), Ruff Stuff Band, 5 Outta 12 Band, Reggae Experience Band, Khari Kill ("Picture of Selassie"), Juicy aka Jah Bami, Populah, Kapa-Shanti, Dainjahmentalz, Aloe (from Method Man's Crew) and a host of others.

Professor Skank of Skank Productions included ZJ's single "Roots & Culture" in his "Best of 2005" show, and the year before, the title track, "Divine Creation", on the playlist for the "Best of 2004" edition of his radio program, "Positive Vibrations", on KDHX 88.1 FM in St. Louis, MO. The Professor has also included that track on his new compilation cd, "Crucial Reggae from Outside Jamaica Vol. 2", (track #10), so check it out at www.skankproductions.com.

Meanwhile Dj Bahilman of "Creation Steppin' Radio"(winner of Live 365 Radio's 2004 Best Professional Website & Best Reggae Station!) has been consistently playing several of Zion Judah's songs since October of 2004, and in his "Top 30 Albums of 2004" countdown, the album "Divine Creation" came in at NO. 5. Log on to www.creation-steppin.com to view album charts and read reviews. Bahilman is now officially broadcasting on www.Skyfm.com. Check him out to catch a Zion Judah tune or station spot, as well as other great, modern and classic roots artists and bands.

ZION JUDAH has also been featured as "Selector's Choice", by Miami, FL based Broadcaster/Caribbean music promoter, Lance-O on the only internationally syndicated, reggae, radio program called "Reggae Vibes", which can be accessed at www.kulchashok.com.

Maximum respect and love has been given to the artist by "Ackee & Saltfish", Austria's premier reggae show, heard on Orange 94.0 FM and at orange.or.at/programs/ackee_saltfish. He received two massive "Spotlights" from this program, touting his songwriting ability, vocal skills and the debut album as a whole, as a standout amongst all the debuts that they have been presenting from late 2004 into early 2005, and on the local, NYC circuit, radio stations such as, 88.9, 89.9, 99.9 95.1 and 107.4 FM, have a number of tracks off the album on regular rotation, so all in all, he has been receiving increasing airplay, support, positive reviews and comments from around the US and all over blessed mother earth.

ZION JUDAH was sensational at The Staten Island Ferry's 100th Anniversary Festival and The 6th Annual Dennis Brown Memorial Concert, 2005. He has been heating up other venues all over the tri-state area with his passionate vocal wizardry. Spots such and the world famous Apollo Theater, Northern Lights(Albany), The Chocolate Monkey, The Big Easy, Club Pulse, 205Club, Shine, Brown Sugar, Carib, , The Rainbow Cafe, B52's, Ray Kim's, La Tropical, Wetlands, Le Bar Bat, Square Rigger and Remy's , just to name a few, can't wait for ZION JUDAH to bless up the scene with another stellar performance.

He is determined to participate in the preservation and upfull promotion of the genre by blending the past, present and future into his own positive, unique and timeless contribution, not simply to reggae, but to the art of positive, musical expression the world over while striving to cultivate a clean heart and a fertile mind. He might still be flying under the so called radar, but this gifted, "self-contained", artist who exhibits the ability to please the ear, soothe the soul, stimulate the mind and make one sing along, will not remain unknown for much longer, Jah Know!

ZION JUDAH is currently gaining exposure in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, California, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, as well as Toronto, Montreal, UK, Australia, Hawaii, Austria, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Sweden, The Netherlands and more.

With the blessings of The Most High Jah, ZION JUDAH is prepared to deliver a musical tour de force of pure niceness and positive vibrations to the people, imploring one and all to "Give Thanks For Life I-tinually!"
