The Near Death Experiment was a math pop band from Lake Charles, LA that formed in Spring 2009 by guitarist/vocalist Brian Bourque (Post Modern Process) bassist Tyler Walker (I Am Sparticus) guitarist Porter Thomas (I Am Sparticus) and drummer Cameron Gill (Post Modern Process). Heavily influenced by math rock, catchy melodies, and video games with moments of dance punk and prog rock mixed in.
