Dog Is Blue
Dog Is Blue is an indie-folk duo based in Toronto, Ontario made up of Paul Watson and Laura Heaney.
Their debut, ...Makes Ghost Noises, was released independently in 2009 to positive reviews. In May 2011 the duo released their sophomore full-length album, Tortoise, which was recorded mostly live of the floor by Andy Magoffin at The House of Miracles studio in London, Ontario, followed by a tour of Canada's east coast.
Using as many salvaged instruments and homemade noise-makers as readily available, Dog Is Blue is a self-described outlet for Watson and Heaney to get their "indie-folk ya-yas out."
The duo describes their music as "ghost-folk" or "garage-folk" and sites among their influences the likes of The Replacements, Chad VanGaalen, Bob Dylan, The Velvet Underground and J.J Cale.
