Tom Voelk is the automotive specialist for NorthWest Cable News. He's been a car nut since he was four when his neighbor brought home the first Mustang delivered in Minnesota. He was scolded by his Driver's Ed teacher for driving like his idol Mario Andretti. A 15-year veteran at KING TV in Seattle, Tom has produced auto specials and segments for the last 10 years. The cars on Driving Northwest are reviewed within their respective price and segment class. In other words, a Kia Rio is not held to the same standards of power, handling and refinement as a Mercedes S Class.
