Subtle Innovation is the musical alias of Evan Dougherty. Born in Harrisburg, PA, Dougherty moved with his family to the outer suburbs of Detroit, MI when he was 6. Dougherty now attends the University of Michigan. As a full time student, his musical ambitions don't stretch far beyond that of a hobby. He has been composing songs since 2005, and shows no intent to stop. His musical background is not very strong, but that doesn't pose as much of an obstacle for him. He has picked up some piano and is also working on learning guitar at the moment. He also sings in his church choir.
