Beekman is ontstaan uit leden van de Amsterdamse bands Indecisive en Vorago. De band maakt melancholische muziek in de sfeer van Elbow en Cold War Kids. Het optreden in Paradiso is het startschot van een muzikaal productief jaar voor Beekman, die op deze avond veel nieuwe nummers voor het eerst te gehore zal brengen.
