ComboNation was part of the revitalized Los Angeles music scene of the 1980's spawned by the growth of new live music venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe and especially Chinatown's famous restaurant/bar Madam Wong's. "Besides Oingo Boingo, Madam Wong's stages hosted the Police, X, the Motels, 20/20, the Knack, the Know, the Textones, the Go-Gos, the Plimsouls, the Nu-Kats, the Bus Boys, Plane English, the Naughty Sweeties, the Blasters, and more."
