Several bands have gone by the name 'The Marquees': (1) The Marquees are an Alternative / Indie / Rock band from Hazleton, Pennsylvania, US. (2) The Marquees were a soul band from Washington D.C., active in the 1950's. They evolved from The Rainbows, who accompanied such singers as Chester Simmons, Reese Palmer, James Nolan, and Marvin Gaye. (3) The Marquees were a garage/rock n roll band that started in 2008-9? in Nipomo, Ca and broke up in December 2011.The latest members included William Mendez, Garland Miller, Jason Downing, and Rachel Owens.
