Beginning composing for games back in 2008 with his joint effort OST ‘Iji’ as a favour to Dan Remar, Chris has went onwards to do lead composition and sound design for many other games on PC, XBLIG, XBLA and iOS. He is behind the lead audio and music for 2009s Microsoft Dream Build Play Grand Prize Winner Dust: An Elysian Tail and 2010s Microsoft Dream Build Play First Prize Winner A.R.E.S. Extinction Agenda.
Chris Geehan hails from Ireland and has been born and bred in Belfast. And some of the Irish stereotypes he proudly stands by.
His influences are far and wide, but holds a particular love for such artists as Bjork, Esbjorn Svensson, The Cinematic Orchestra & Oscar Peterson, and other soundtrack composers such as Toshihiko Horiyama, Tenmon, Alan Silvestri and Jeff Richmond, to name but only a few.
Chris’ background in music composing and performing is rather recent, having only really been playing drums and piano for the last 5 years seriously. However, Chris reckons it’s better to arrive late than never arrive at all. Or was that about party crashing… yeah.
