S-Kay

S-Kay

S-Kay is the stage name of Joel Marlow. 2008 marked the release of S-kay's single "Bouncers" which received much critical acclaim and air play. This was later followed up in 2009 by the highly successful track, 'Need Sleep'. S-Kay has worked with a wide range of diverse producers such as Jake Gosling, producer of Ed Sheeran, Tristan Hackney and Kraze who heavily features on the debut album by urban artist, Devlin. S-Kay first started mc'ing at the age of 14, under the alias, SKEH, making up one fifth of the Undersound collective. Although the group were widely recognized on the underground scene, little commercial success materialized. Undersound later disbanded and went their separate ways however, S-Kay continued to feautre on sets at various venues (one highlight being DJ Maximums birthday with urban group, Boy Better Know). 2008 marked a change of name from SKEH to the name you know him as today, S-Kay.

S-Kay has received much critical acclaim due to his diverse style of mc'ing. Most modern mc's feel that it is vital to cram many words into each bar, so to have a fast flow. This however often causes words to be unheard. S-Kay believes that a songs lyrics should be heard and understood by its listeners and his flow represents this. Due to this, S-Kay has built up a large fan base which continues to rapidly expand. Read more on Last.fm.
