THE MAINSTREAM are a collective of musicians working in different genres .Their backgrounds include hiphop ,folk ,acoustic ,indie , rock and pretty much anything else ; and The Mainstream is an experiment in combining any or all of these genres . So why The Mainstream ? You could say that it's because their influences are mainstream ,or because they hope to create something that will become mainstream ,but mainly it's because they know that what they do will be enjoyed by an exclusive group of music appreciators ,and in that sense their music is definitly not mainstream.
