I Am Sparticus was an experimental alternative space rock shoegaze pop punk juggernaut from Lake Charles, Louisiana founded by guitarist Tyler Walker, drummer Matt Daigle, bassist Kim McCord, and guitarist DJ Fontenot, in 2004. Guitarist, Porter Thomas, along with bassist, Jenny Canaday, replaced Kim and DJ in 2006. The General Chicken demo was recorded in 2007, followed in 2008 by the s/t album, produced by Brian Bourque (Incisions, Post Modern Process, Vacation Battle School) and recorded at his studio, Slack Studios.

I Am Sparticus disbanded in spring of 2009. Tyler and Porter went on to form the math pop band, The Near Death Experiment, with Brain Bourque and Cameron Gill (Post Modern Process).
