Costume formed in Los Angeles around 2012 as "Flesh on the rail". After a few initial line-up changes, the band settled and recorded a series of expressive demos that blended the urgency of post-punk, the rhythmic battery of industrial, and the reverb soaked landscapes of shoegaze. Initially designed as a recording project, Costume returned in 2015 and began performing a series of live shows utilizing a full line-up to express their eclectic sound.
