Argentina Argentina Maria Pinto dos Santos, famous as Argentina Santos (Mouraria, Lisbon, 1926) is a Portuguese fado singer, considered one of the last divas. In 1950, she opened her restaurant "The Parreirinha of Alfama, in Lisbon and started her artistic career by singing for the visitors. Her strong, authentic, and very personal style caught the attention of the public and critics who proclaimed her as one of the greatest musical promises of the era.
