The HipHop-Crew Vorzeichen was founded in 1998 by Sum and Don Walderon. Shortly after that, they built their own studio in Neumünster (northern part of Germany). 1999 DJ Bucktown Mark became a new member, who originally was a club DJ at the famous Powerhouse in Hamburg. He spinned the wax with Germany`s top DJs Mario Cullman (5 Sterne Deluxe), Mirko Machine (Spax, etc.) DJ Stylewarz (No Remorze, Ferris MC, etc.) and Marius No.1 (Cora E). The equipment of the Beatlabor was optimized over the next couple of months and they worked hard on new tracks with a 4-Track-EP (EP Volume 1) as the result in 2001. The own homepage (www.vorzeichen-crew.de) was the next piece of work with which Vorzeichen and their Webmaster Jonas won a German Web Award in 2002. In May and June 2002 the 12”Inchs “1 – 2 – 3” and “Gut Drauf” were released in active work and direct selling because no label could deal with their ideology of self-determination. in March 2003 they dropped their first album “Das Minimum ist Maximum” and had a few gigs in northern Germany with Ferris MC, Deichkind, DJ Honda, PMD and K-Solo amoungst others. At the same time AufderLichtung shot the 1st video for Vorzeichen`s “Die Abenteuer der Tigerkralle und Kickbox Johnny Otten” which unfortunately was not able, despite its artistic individuality, to convince MTV and VIVA being played (and we are not even talking about heavy rotation!). In fall 2003 Vorzeichen went back to their studio to start recording the 2nd album “Keine Hits für die Masse.” In March the 1st single “Schattenspiel” and in April the new album were released. Another Video for “Vollgas” was shot. The face of the homepage changed again and another few gigs followed. In August 2004 the track “Schattenspiel” was released on the HipHop-Sampler “Reimkraft 2” (other artists were Sido, 5 Sterne Deluxe, Max Herre, Ferris MC, etc). Then the 3 members took a break from working in the studio to regain their hunger for fat beats and rhymes and the 2006-Vorzeichen mixtape by DJ Bucktown Mark was released on their homepage for free download in 2006.
