Sipra Bose
Born on 9th November 1945, Sipra Bose was the eldest child to her parents. Though not a musical family, her family provided utmost support when she started taking music lessons with the help of a harmonium brought from her maternal parents' home. Pdt. Chinmoy Lahiri whom she called "jethhu" (a name addressed to one's father's elder brother) implanted in her soul the burning passion for Indian Classical Music through his melodious singing style and his remarkable mentorship. The art of demonstration of the various Ragas was what she essentially learnt from him.
