Born on April 9, 1987 in San Jose, CA. His mom was quite musically talented, and thus wanted him to grow up playing music. He had small stints of playing thubla and sitar, but mainly grew up playing classical piano. After about 9 years of piano lessons, he wanted to start playing the rock/alternative music that he listened to on the radio. So, in high school he started taking guitar lessons. He played guitar throughout high school but only took lessons for a year or two. He went to UC Berkeley for college and in his free time took lessons from a tutor.
