This song comes at the end of a traditional Scottish wedding with the rejected young man, from marrying his only truly love, threatens to leave the village of Brigadoon as a revenge. We that to happen, the spell of Brigadoon who awakes each day to a hundred years later, would be broken, and everything and everyone would vanish in the highland mist of Scotland forever. All the townspeople pursue Charlie (the young man seeking to escape Brigadoon) by trying to cut him off at the brook, the bridge, the woods and any means possible before he crosses the boundaries of Brigadoon.
