SwallowTail
1.- For 30 years, Swallowtail has been the name of a New England contradance band formed in 1978 in Western Massachusetts. Two of its members also perform with the contradance band Wild Asparagus. 2.- In addition to being the name of a colorful and graceful butterfly, "Swallowtail" (or "The Swallow's Tail") is the name of at least two distinct Irish fiddle tunes in the contradance repertoire, a jig and a reel.
