Liverpool Five
The Liverpool Five were a rock and roll quintet that was part of the British Invasion of the 1960s. The five members of the band came to the United States by way of Japan in 1965. Considering these guys weren't from Liverpool, how logical it is to assume they were attempting to capitalize on the success of The Beatles. But according to Mike Stax's extensive interview with the band, which is included with "The Best of The Liverpool Five," a promoter in Germany gave them the name. Initially billed The Steve Laine Combo, the band came together in 1963 in London.
