Afrodite Fryda
Afroditi Frida is a Greek singer, best known for representing Greece in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Clown.
Frida was born and raised in Athens. After studying music for 8 years at the National Conservatory of Athens Frida started her music career. In 1984 she competed to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Donald Duck" but was unsuccessful. She tried again in 1988 and after the jury declared that none of the songs were good enough they eventually chose Afroditi Frida. At the final, held in Dublin, the song failed to impress. With only Turkey and France voting for it, Frida finished the contest in 17th place.
In 1989 Frida released her debut album "Mikri Megali Agapi". She released another record in 1992 and a third in 1995. Her fourth record "Asimenia Dakria" (Silver Tears) was released in 2006.
