She was born in Peru, and has been based in Mexico for more than 20 years.
Her extraordinary career has taken her to all the great concert stages in the world. With 36 CD releases, and with sales of over 4 million, her work has been hailed throughout the Americas, Europe and Africa. Her most recent recordings Costa Negra and Negro Color have established her as one of the most important singers in World Music .
