Dr Jönsson

Dr Jönsson

Dr Jönsson was the brainchild of Swedish producer/songwriter Mikael Andersson (b. May 11, 1981 in Alingsas, Sweden) and using this name he co-wrote and recorded numerous songs in the late 1990s and early 2000s. After being introduced to music-creator-program Fasttracker II in the late 90s, he began recording some simple tunes, adding his own lyrics.

Gaining little success however, he started collaborating with songwriter companion Mr Greengrass, who remixed some of his earliest songs and re-released them on an album in 2000 called "Dr Jönsson in the Mix". Work progressed in 2001 with the added recruitment of "Blot-Sven", with which he mainly collaborated writing lyrics, leaving the music composition in the hands of Mr Greengrass. This new setup recorded two full albums, "Doktorn kan komma" in 2001 and "Den Sjuke Doktorn" in 2002, perhaps their finest moment.

Some of their best songs are "Alingsås", a tribute to Dr Jönsson's hometown, "Hjalmar Stolpe" about a famed Swedish archaeologist, "Palmemordet" about the assassination of former Swedish prime minister Olof Palme and "Polisen i Strömstad" about an old Swedish TV-Series. Work began on a fourth album in 2003 but the project never came to fruition and it increasingly looks as if the new tracks will not be published. Read more on Last.fm.
