Willy Banta
Willy Banta was born in Los Angeles just a few miles from where the Beach Boys and the Turtles grew up, but never saw them at the local Dairy Queen.
While young, he was told "write songs now before they stop coming to you" and made that the premise for his band Spooky Pie. Starting with emulating Bob Dylan and the Beatles, his folkie writing process was blown to bits upon hearing of Brian Wilson's spontaneous bits employed for the Smile album.
