Matt McCarthy, born in Providence, Rhode Island, began performing as the Fordham University mascot. He was a finalist in the NY Underground Comedy Festival "Emerging Comics Contest," was featured in the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival's "New Faces" category and starred in several national on-camera and voice-over commercials. Matt also won an Emerging Comics of New York award for his role as the regular cable guy on Verizon's national campaign. He recently performed his one-man show at the Upright Citizens Brigade in both New York and LA and recorded a solo CD at Comix in NY.
