Rebeca Matta ocupa uma posição particular no cenário musical baiano. Sem negar suas origens, a cantora e compositora revela em seu trabalho uma abertura singular a ritmos e influências musicais diversos, como o trip-hop , o pop industrial e a MPB. Em 1998, foi lançado seu primeiro disco, Tantas Coisas . A boa repercussão rendeu-lhe o prêmio de cantora-revelação de 1999 da Associação Paulista dos Críticos de Arte (APCA).
