Chris Pollock had been writing acoustic songs since 2006 but it wasn't until the demise of Run Amok in 2008, along with the hiatus of new band Million due to a hip injury suffered by drummer Benjamin Breitenstein that he found himself taking the project seriously. With brother Dane coming in early 2008 as an experiment, by September they found themselves with a full album to ready to record. A pre-production demo of the album to be entitled "This Is My Resolve" was passed around through circles with some mp3s ending up leaked online.
