Kennedy Sunday were originally formed at Cardiff University in 2001 and comprised of singer/songwriter James Elliott, Guitarist David Pothecary, Drummer Evan Quick and Bass player Sigrunn Tvedten. The band achieved some success within a year of forming by winning the Welsh Universities Battle of the Bands for Cardiff. That same evening Sigrunn, a Norwegien foreign student, announced she wouldn't be returning the next semester.
