Akayzia is a London based indie/folk group, fronted by the British born urban folk singer Akayzia Parker, who writes and performs poignant tales of modern city life. Akayzia is studying guitar at The Institute of Contemporary Music. Her artfully delivered songs are hard to pigeonhole as they are influenced by many musical genres, more notably Rock, Folk and Blues of which the later is heavily evident in her vocal performances. Akayzia spent her childhood summers travelling to music festivals in the UK and around Europe with her large close knit family. It was this early exposure to live music that inspired Akayzia to start composing songs at such a young age. Suffering from dyslexia, Akayzia found school very unrewarding and began seeking solace in her music. Read more on Last.fm.
