Nick Grey & The Random Orchestra
Born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1977 and living in France and in Canada, Nick Grey has been releasing experimental yet highly emotional music since 2002. His songs are an expressive, soulful blend of torpid acoustic arrangements and unpredictable electronics, underlined by melancholic and often ironic lyrics. “Eccentric and highly literary” according to The Wire, Nick’s works have included collaborations with artists such as Charlemagne Palestine, Martyn Bates, Kris Force, Richard Moult, and many more. He has released an album with Matthew Shaw under the guise 230 Divisadero on Locust Music, and is also a member of the “virtual collective” 48 Cameras. His new album, You’re Mine Again, (a collection of mainly electronic songs about various states of romantic agitation) is scheduled for release on June 23rd, 2014. Current members of The Random Orchestra, Nick’s main group of collaborators, are Louis Pontvianne, Sarah Maison, Boyarin and Peter James. Read more on Last.fm.
