Language of Shapes
A starfire-powered psychedelic folk rock band from the coast of South Korea.
When an Englishman, a Korean-American, and a couple of Americans spontaneously bought some mandolins and started jamming together on Korean beaches, mountains, and rooftops, Language of Shapes was born… Mandolins like never before, punctuated with a driving bass line, swirling guitars, tribal djembe beats and the occasional flute. Haunting vocals, post-apocalyptic yet hopeful lyrics, and music that’s been musingly compared to Led Zeppelin, Andrew Bird, Jethro Tull, Arcade Fire, and Midlake. But Language of Shapes ultimately eludes labels:

Tristram Burden (the United Kingdom – songwriter, lead vocals, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki),
J.E. Seuk (South Korea/New York City – vocals, mandolin, mandola, flute),
Patrick Mackay - Guitars
Courtland Miles (California – bass), and
Bobby Goldberg (New Jersey – djembe).
Both their albums are available on CD only at Bandcamp,
otherwise available at all fine digital retailers, and have joined up with seminal Hong Kong based DIY record label Metal Postcard Records.
