What is Gringo Barrio? Gringo Barrio is a band based in Austin that released its self titled debut album in August 2013. Gringo Barrio became a way for old friends to stay close, writing songs that revived memories of their youth in the 1960s and ‘70s in Laredo, Texas and its Sister City across the border, Nuevo Laredo. Some songs tell humorous anecdotes, others, are simple, yet unforgettable experiences of three gringos living the Mexican life beyond stereotypes.
