Brian Pepper, 30, was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. His Parents both played music casually and at 14 he began playing guitar. Brian picked it up quickly, and was soon writing his own music. His earliest musical influences were the oldies and classic rock radio stations he listened to with his dad. Initially self-taught on the guitar, he later studied formally with a local guitar teacher named John Hedger. Through this, Brian developed a keen interest in the blues of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Lightening Hopkins, and later, classical guitar, which he studied for a year.
