Zamar aka Steve Stoddart's music ministry started when he was nine years old with his younger brother Wayne Stoddart who is also a popular gospel reggae artist. They both ministered songs in schools and churches during their earlier years. Zamar started his recording career with the Jamaican gospel group "Beloved" in 1998. He wrote all eleven tracks on their "River of Life" album and was featured as lead vocalist on three songs.
