Software is a German electronic music duo. The band was formed in 1984 by Mergener Peter (* 1951) and Michael White (b. 1948). Prior to forming Software, they worked together as Mergener & White. The LPs and CDs of the band appeared under the label IC (Innovative Communication), which was owned by electronic musician Klaus Schulze and released music by numerous other electronic musicians, as well as German New Wave Group Ideal.
