Multi-instrumentalist and producer BiD caused a sensation with his 2004 release Bambas & Biritas Vol. 1 (Spliffs and Booze, Vol. 1), which featured fusions of samba, soul, funk, hip-hop and electronica to create an intoxicating and uniquely Brazilian blend. Brazilian rap star Rappin Hood, mixmaster DJ Soul Slinger and legendary samba soul diva Elza Soares were just a few of the guests on his striking debut.

(And Then) features vocals by Seu Jorge, the musician and actor who rose to fame in the lead role of the film City Of God and who more recently shared the screen with Bill Murray in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
