Magic Beans was a campus band at Vassar College from 1988 until 1990. The original lineup was: Jonny Wah (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Fish (vocals, guitar), Jeff Davis (drums), and Andy (bass, vocals). After one show, Fish took over drums and Jah-mess joined the band, adding vocals and guitar of his own. Fish expressed an idea of adding some Frank Zappa to the band's repertoire and was asked to leave. Easing the band's grief somewhat, D.L.Roth from across the quad became the drummer. Around the same time, saxaphonist/harmonica player/vocalist Purple Dan joined. This lineup remained the same until the very end, although Purple Dan missed the photo session. Read more on Last.fm.
