Etnika
Since its inception in the year 2000, Etnika has been ‘the band who are single-handedly spearheading the renaissance in Maltese roots music’ both locally and internationally. Through its on-going research and resulting performances, it has showcased some of the last and most prominent members of the folk-music tradition including the late folk-singer Il-Budaj and musician Il-Ħammarun. Locally it has created a newly found sense of tradition amongst the newer generations.
