This artist profile has been created for a number of reasons. Most prominent among them is the great amount of balinese gamelan recordings and compilations which do not contain the identity of the performers or ensembles. Instead of the plays being scrobbled onto the extremely generic Various Artists profile (and that's in a good case).
Gamelan fans are advised to tag the recording artist with the lesser generic term Balinese Gamelan instead of VA in case the performer's name is absent.
