THE EFFECTION was a Mod / Punk trio from Oakland ( California ) comprised of former members of such Bay Area acts as LIMP and DANCE HALL CRASHERS and Providence ( Rhode Islands ) pop-punk outfit, WATERDOG. THE EFFECTION (Billy, Scott and Chris) have produced a gem of a power-pop album. "Soundtrack To A Moment", their debut on Adeline Records, has its 1979 roots firmly planted in the melodic songwriting tradition of groups like THE JAM, SECRET AFFAIR, MERTON PARKAS and THE FIGGS.
